Please see the following details regarding the I-17 construction work.
- The State Transportation Board awarded the contract on March 18th.
- The 20-day "quick-start" provision in the contract does not start until the date of ADOT's letter to the contractor that follows typically a few days after the Board's contract award. In this case the letter to the contractor is dated March 21, 2004, so the 20-day provision expires on April 11, 2004.
-Paving is going to start this Friday night (4/8/04) and continue next Monday - Wednesday nights (4/11-4/13) on the Northbound right lane section from Happy Valley Road to Carefree Highway. The reason for restricting the work to just the right lane is to leave one lane open to traffic during the work. We are requiring the contract to keep one lane open at all times.
